Here’s the Richest Dog in the World
Who said rich dogs only exist in hollywood movies? If you think so, maybe you didn’t dig deep enough.
Pet Plan, UK’s favorite insurance provider for pets, listed the richest animals on the planet. Call their owners “weirdos” or “nuts” but no one was able to stop them from leaving their fortunes to cats, whales, tortoise, chimps, and the most opulent of all furry creatures – dogs.
Gunther IV, for instance, is not your typical German Shepherd next door, when German Countess Karlotta Libenstein signed a testament to give it her 358,250,000 USD estate inclusive of multi-million dollar Madonna’s ex-Miami mansion and a butler to provide pricey food (i.e. caviar & steak) over the dog’s lifetime.
Perhaps Gunther’s legacy is the world’s most expensive dog will ever made. And yet Karlotta was not the only dog lover who had bequeathed enormous wealth on dogs- there were several other women who insured their dogs’ future with millions of bucks. Ella Wendel was the first woman to ever publicly display her great love to her white poodle, Toby Rimes, leaving it an estate worth 47,979,900 USD, oblivious to society’s doubts about her sanity. Oprah Winfrey also pampers her dogs so much that she would leave them a rumored inheritance worth 48 million USD.
These stories simply prove that dogs don’t just make great companions, they make excellent heirs. How these cute, furry, loyal pets benefit from their masters’ oddities and eccentricities will never fail to amuse – and make news.
